To create a book cover for Penguin Books' Famous Couples series that represents the relationship of Edward and Kim from the movie, "Edward Scissorhands," by creating a visual metaphor through meaningful inanamite forms.

My final design depicts a bright door being cut open by gardening shears with polka dots flowing out of the door. The door represents Kim’s heart. It shows that she had once been closed off and a product of suburbia. However, the shears, representing Edward are sharp and dark in appearance but show how he helped open her heart. The light coming from the door represents the light they brought into each other’s lives. Edward and Kim’s story ends with Kim telling her granddaughter how Edward makes it snow every year. The polka dots represent the snow that still connects them after so many years.
